Deck the Halls

Christmas in the Mountains

A candlelit dining table dressed in a green ikat tablecloth with red glassware, transferware and autumn flowers.

Think less Santa’s workshop, more Christmas at a very chic hunting lodge.

With Halloween just around the corner, most people are thinking pumpkins and costumes. Me? I’ve been plotting Christmas since September. Blame it on the Virgo in me. I love a plan, and apparently that includes having my holiday decorations mapped out before the first leaf falls.

Every year, I dream up a new theme for the house, right down to the wrapping paper that, naturally, must coordinate. Because why stop at the tree?

This year, I’m spending Christmas in Jackson, Wyoming, and taking my love of Black Watch tartan, tortoiseshell, stags, antlers, and greenery to the mountains, with a little peppermint thrown in for good measure.

Think less Santa’s workshop, more Christmas at a very chic hunting lodge.

I’ve been gathering, plotting, and purchasing for weeks, so here’s a little peek at what’s making the cut for this year’s Deck the Halls collection: what’s on my table, what I’m collecting, and what I’ll be wearing.

Because when it comes to Christmas, I believe in being merry, bright, and wildly overprepared.

XO,
Hillary
